Finally, an empty room

The movers came to take my items at 12PM and finished their work in less than an hour. The speed of their work never ceases to amaze me. They lift up multiple boxes so effortlessly as if it was weightless. Upon seeing them take my stuff away, I started to think that I probably should’ve downsized more of my belongings because I started to think that maybe my new apartment space wont be big enough to accommodate all of that. (They did give me the layout and size but it was in tatami size, Japan smh).

Just as I was about to leave my apartment to get lunch, the lady from the internet company called me and notified me that the setup will be done on the 25th of APRIL. I was dumbfounded when I heard the date because it was far off from what the previous lady had told me. (She said it should be the 3rd or 4th of April, what the hell?) I was too taken aback to mention that and was only able to say okay. They did say that they were going to provide me with a pocket WIFI until the aforementioned date, but I doubt it would suffice for teleworking… I wonder how much I’ll have to dish out just to get extra data. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt. I’ll probably have to discuss matters with my company since they’re planning to have the training online.

3 days left until I leave Beppu.

  1. I’m glad the move is going smoothly. Sorry to hear about the internet though. Hopefully it’ll work out in the end. I look forward to seeing your new apartment! And I know this is off topic, but I love your curtains. I wish I could find some like yours. Are you going to take them with you or leave them behind? (Sometimes homeowners will leave their curtains behind for the next owner. I found that weird at first, but I guess it’s just like leaving a washing machine and dryer or other large appliances.)

Also, don’t be afraid to call the internet company back and just calmly ask why the date had change. And calmly explain that you need to be able to work from home and see if they can accommodate a little bit more.

    1. Actually, I was going to dispose of my curtains and get a new one lol. But I’m now thinking whether I should just take it with me because new curtains could be costly… Also, the real estate does not allow you to leave anything behind upon moving out of your apartment for some reason.

      1. I guess it makes since because curtains can hold allergens. I think you should take your curtains with you for the time being! Then you can shop around for new ones when you have a bit of extra money! They’re so pretty, and I completely understand wanting to switch them out. I buy curtains every year it seems like. I pretty much love my lace curtains, but never satisfied with the “room darkening” curtains. (It’s too hot here in the summer, so they’re helpful to keep out the heat while providing just enough light in).
