I have numerous posts about things that I’ve purchased in the past and I think it’s starting to go out of hand. As weird as it may be, I think my expenses are increasing despite the unstable financial situation recently. I wonder if I’m unconsciously spending more out of boredom and stress of being cooped up at home constantly.
Moleskine Planner
I was going to gift this planner to my friend to celebrate his job offer and also his birthday in two weeks. But I guess I was spacing out when I placed the order because I accidentally purchased the 2020 version instead of 2021. For some reason, my brain kept thinking that next year is going to be 2020. Obviously, I can’t use this as a gift anymore so I decided to use it for myself. I was too lazy to return this since it’ll cost an extra fee to ship it back, so I used white outs to rewrite all the dates in the planner and repurpose it for 2021. It was a lot of work, but at least this way I won’t be spending more money from my stupid mistake. I’m planning to use this as a meal tracker.
Skincare

I don’t feel guilty for buying a new batch of skincare since I ran out of my last one. Winter really makes me burn through toners and lotions really quick. I’m trying out the Celimax brand for their ampoule and cleanser, and I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with the Laneige toner by now.
Nakagawa Masashichi Products

I must say, this was an unnecessary but nice purchase. I didn’t need a new lunch box for work since I’ve got my Muji container boxes that could serve as one, but I jumped for the purchase anyway because they had a free shipping campaign (I still need to fix this habit of jumping into impulse purchasing). The tiny pouch on the right is actually an aroma sachet.

You can probably guess that I purchased this because of the aesthetics because I’m a sucker for one. The size is also very compact for a lunchbox and fits a good portion of what I usually eat. The only unfortunate thing about it would be that it’s not compatible with microwave so you can’t reheat your food.
B Side Label Stickers

I’ve purchased a couple of stickers from this company in the past and I’m using them on my planners to decorate their covers. I could easily pick them up in the nearest Tokyu Hands store in the neighboring town, but I don’t really go there these days since cases are rising everywhere. Obviously, this is a very non-essential purchase (and kind of expensive, considering they’re around $3 each), but at least I won’t have to buy stickers for a long time now.
A new laptop
I have been debating for months whether I should be getting a new Macbook or a new Windows laptop since my current ones are both dying and not functioning properly even for basic tasks. I finally went with the latter for economical and functional reasons and I didn’t regret it one bit. What I purchased was an Asus ROG Strix gaming laptop. It’s running Intel 10th gen and RTX 2070. I probably didn’t need that much spec for basic Photoshop or Premiere editing but I love how it just improves the gaming experience (I’m playing Genshin Impact on it daily). It took me some time to get used to the 15.6″ screen, but now I can’t turn back to my old 13″ Macbook Air anymore. It’s time to let that dinosaur retire.
I’m going to have to work my ass off to cover up the cost for the new laptop. My next goal is to upgrade my dying iPhone 7. See you in the next log!
