Spending the Golden Week in nothingness

I spent my time home as usual, of course. I only went out once to get my groceries done. Spent one of the days painting, and another day staring at 4 rolls of poorly made homemade kimbap while figuring out how I’m supposed to consume all of this before it expires without getting sick of it.

Work started again two days ago and I was feeling depressed from it. I had to spend half of the day listening to company explanations and the remaining half to stare at my colleague’s faces on the screen while being irritated at them. Apparently, the whole training was supposed to last until June if it weren’t for the pandemic. Now everything is just cut short; a two-week training shortened to just one.

Back to the situation where I’m irritated at my colleagues. Long story short, we were divided into groups for a project where we had to come up with ideas to improve the company. At one point, I was worried because the members of my group were the types that doesn’t really speak. But two weeks in, I found that the situation had flipped and that I’m the one who doesn’t really speak anymore. I gave up to do so.

In university, I did not really have a problem working with different people. Dealing with different ideas and mindset was a fun thing because everyone was open to discussion. However, the same thing can’t be said when it comes to working with Japanese. I’m pretty sure I’m stereotyping, but they mostly prefer not having disruptions. That means, opinions that are too different aren’t really that welcomed. This and the fact that the way I do things are pretty much the opposite from how typical Japanese do just makes the current groupwork activity feel like hell.

Yesterday, I finally gave up on trying to voice my opinion and only spoke when requested to. At one point, I was tempted to just reply with ‘do you really need my opinion?’ but I decided against it because I don’t want to make a drama. I’d rather endure another week and then cut ties once the training ends because I probably won’t meet them again.

On another note, my pack of Animal Crossing sanrio amiibo cards finally arrived! And I really got lucky because I got all 6 different types in one go! I immediately invited Etoile to move into my island, replacing Olivia. The Kiki & Lala collaboration items has got to be my favorites. The Hello Kitty one is probably my second favorite.

I also finished playing Taisho x Alice the other day. It was kinda dark and depressing but I’m happy I finally got to finish it. I wanted to get another game but I think that will have to be put on hold for awhile.

I’m sorry that your group isn’t cooperating very well. I hate group work for that reason. Hopefully time passes quickly, but don’t be quick to burn your bridge with them. You may run into them again at some point.

I’m glad you finally got your amiibo cards! I love Kiki and Lala collection! It was the first card I used! I also love the HK stuff too, but Rilla bothers me for some reason. I felt they should have used a cuter animal. Like a dog or something lol.

I’m glad you finished your game! I never can finish games like that. I’m not really good with “boss fights” on my own.

Rilla bothered me too. Lol. I wish they used a cuter animal for it. I love the furniture for the Keroppi series since it’s so Japanese, but not that much of a fan for the actual creature.

Not a huge Keroppi fan? I hate real frogs, but I find keroppi very cute. lol I like a lot of Sanrio things, and loved all the items from the amiibo cards. I already bought them all and I just stored them for the time being. Pompompurin really grew on me over the years too.

I’m trying to get my island back to a five star rating so I can unlock the golden watering can. I’m still missing a bunch of the golden tool recipes. Sigh. But I been more fascinated with Pokemon Snap (and getting aggravated by it too). I plan on showing my daughter the “Super Mario 3D All-Stars today. I hope she’ll have fun playing it. I wish Nintendo would bring back Banjo-Kazooie to the Switch.

I like Keroppi but I don’t like the actual animal that appears in ACNH (Toby?) haha. Sorry for my misleading sentences.

I saw your blog post about the new games but haven’t been able to comment on it. Enjoy your games!! I’m still waiting for mine’s to get released next week. Excited!
